Craft Prospect is delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories at the Technology Scotland Awards 2026, recognising both our commitment to developing people and the leadership helping drive our continued growth.

Craft Prospect is a finalist for the Talent Development Award, while Managing Director Steve Greenland has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Leadership in Technology Award.

Both are new categories for 2026. The Talent Development Award recognises organisations demonstrating an outstanding commitment to developing skills, nurturing talent, and empowering people to achieve their full potential, while the Outstanding Leadership in Technology Award celebrates exceptional leadership that has driven innovation and organisational success.

Developing talent from within

At Craft Prospect, building advanced space technologies goes hand in hand with developing the people behind them.

Our approach to talent development spans internships, university collaborations, PhD research opportunities, mentoring, structured training, and continuous professional development, creating pathways for people to build long-term careers within Scotland’s space sector.

Many of our interns and PhD collaborators have gone on to join Craft Prospect permanently, while existing team members have progressed into senior technical and leadership positions as the company has grown. Every employee also receives a monthly personal development allowance to invest in training, qualifications, professional memberships, and other learning opportunities aligned with their career goals.

That investment in people has helped Craft Prospect grow specialist capability in areas including quantum technologies and onboard autonomy, while supporting the increasingly complex projects and missions being delivered across the company.

We’re also proud of the diversity of the Craft Crew. Women currently represent around 40% of our workforce, alongside colleagues from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds, bringing different perspectives and experiences to our engineering, operations, and business teams.

Recognising Steve’s leadership

Steve’s shortlisting for the Outstanding Leadership in Technology Award recognises his role in growing Craft Prospect from a Glasgow start-up into a multidisciplinary space engineering company, while maintaining a strong focus on both technology and people.

Over the past year, he has led continued growth across areas including mission architecture, quantum technologies, production and testing, systems integration, space operations, and responsive operations, strengthening the company’s ability to deliver multiple complex projects in parallel.

His leadership has also helped establish major collaborations across industry and academia, bringing together partners to deliver ambitious programmes such as OPS-SAT VOLT and helping build wider technical capability across Scotland’s space sector.

Just as importantly, Steve has championed professional development, inclusive engineering, employee ownership, and a culture where people are encouraged to take responsibility, contribute ideas, and grow into new roles.

For the Craft Crew, seeing Talent Development and Outstanding Leadership recognised side by side feels particularly fitting. They reflect two closely connected parts of our story: investing in talented people and creating the environment in which they can do their best work.

Celebrating Scotland’s technology community

The Technology Scotland Awards recognise achievements across Scotland’s critical and enabling technologies sector, celebrating the people and organisations driving innovation, collaboration, and impact.

The winners will be announced at the Technology Scotland Annual Dinner & Awards on Thursday 12 November at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, where more than 250 guests from across the sector are expected to come together for an evening of celebration and networking.

We’re very proud to be shortlisted alongside so many impressive individuals and organisations from across Scotland’s technology community, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with everyone in November.
