Craft Prospect is proud to announce that we have achieved ISO 27001 certification, a robust and internationally recognised standard for data security.
This certification represents an important achievement in our mission to deliver #SmartSecureSpace — ensuring that the design, development, and operation of our spacecraft payloads and mission-critical systems meet the highest standards of information security, resilience, and trust.
What ISO 27001 Means
ISO 27001 provides a structured framework for protecting sensitive data through confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Achieving certification demonstrates that Craft Prospect has implemented a comprehensive Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) — a robust set of controls, policies, and procedures to identify and manage risks, safeguard information assets, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Why This Matters
While ISO 27001 certification is commonly held by many of the space industry’s largest and most well-established players, it remains relatively rare among smaller space engineering companies and newer entrants in the fast-growing ‘New Space’ sector.
Achieving this standard positions Craft Prospect among an elite group of companies leading the way in space cybersecurity and operational resilience.
Key benefits include:
Enhanced trust and credibility with customers, partners, and stakeholders
Improved risk management and resilience across all operations
Alignment with evolving regulatory requirements for space data protection
Operational improvements through consistent processes and accountability
Reassurance to investors and mission partners that security is integral to our business
Our Path to Certification
Achieving ISO 27001 required the implementation of a company-wide Information Security Management System, integrating new controls with our existing quality processes. The system covers every aspect of our operations and the systems we’re developing — from physical and network security to secure hardware and software development, supply chain management, governance, and incident response and disaster recovery.
Our certification is formally defined as covering:
“Information Security controls implemented by Craft Prospect supporting the design, development, deployment and support of spacecraft payloads and mission-critical systems, including satellite ground stations and operations, customer and user portals.”
Craft Prospect’s certification process was led by Scott Nichol, Space Security Engineer, who acted as Security Officer for the audit and oversaw the alignment of our technical controls, risk management framework, and internal procedures with the ISO 27001 standard.
“It’s great to see the entire company embrace a security-first mindset, and to see our commitment to security recognised,” said Scott. “This certification reinforces our dedication #SmartSecureSpace and will be crucial going forward as we progress into mission operations.”
Strengthening the Foundation for the Future
As Craft Prospect continues to develop next-generation space technologies and advance the OPS-SAT VOLT mission, ISO 27001 certification provides a strong foundation for secure and reliable operations — both in orbit and on the ground.
The achievement underscores our commitment to excellence, resilience, and responsible innovation as we help build the future of Smart Secure Space.
