Our ethos
Employee ownership and engagement
At Craft Prospect, we are deeply committed to the practice of peer-to-peer learning. Since our inception, it has been our vision to put ownership of the business into the hands of the engineers who make everything we do possible. As of 2024, over 20% of the business is already in employee hands.
Diversity and female engineering leadership
The Craft team is proudly diverse by sexual orientation, ethnicity, and neurotype. 10% of our workforce are highly-skilled migrants, and we come from backgrounds spanning Asia, Africa, and Europe, as well as plenty of homegrown Scottish talent. With a 40% female management team, we are well above the gender leadership benchmark for engineering organisations.
Talent
We have consulted on design and operations for missions sponsored by both the UK Space Agency (UKSA) and the European Space Agency (ESA). 90% of our workforce have higher degrees, including 4 PhDs. We actively and proudly recruit and train talent from Scottish universities, with 80% of our team’s degree work completed here.
Community outreach and paying it forward is central to the Craft mindset. We are proud of the Govan community where our office and lab are based. Our team is active in schools outreach to teach children about the wonderful world of engineering. We have supported homelessness through the Big Sleepout and local theatre, and we love to work with local Glasgow charity The Children’s Wood.
