Dr Hina Khan joins Craft Prospect as Head of Commercial

(Glasgow, UK) Craft Prospect is delighted to announce that Dr Hina Khan has joined the team as Head of Commercial.

Dr Khan has over 25 years of experience in the space sector securing and delivering complex projects related to business growth and stakeholder engagement across government, industry and academia.

She was the first ever Executive Director at Space Scotland, an industry-led not-for-profit organisation geared toward developing the space sector in Scotland. During her tenure as ED, she championed Scotland’s unique end-to-end space capabilities by engaging directly with the UK and Scottish Governments to capture opportunities enabling growth and collaboration within Scotland’s space ecosystem.

Dr Khan’s extensive background in the space sector began with a PhD in Space Science from the University of Leicester. This was followed by a 10-year research career in space science data analytics with NASA, ESA and UCL. She then transitioned to knowledge exchange and business development activities and successfully integrated non-space sectors with space and satellite applications, driving growth in the areas of data science, analytics and technology of space applications.

Her leadership roles include Innovation Lead at the Scottish Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications and Programme Lead at Spire, where she handled a large portfolio of world-leading satellite technology development projects. She also led UK stakeholder engagement activities at Spire, regularly deputising for C-level management at key events with government officials from the space sector.

Dr Khan is also a Board Director for the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, where she supports international business opportunities for Scottish industries. She is a frequent keynote speaker in areas of space sector leadership and actively promotes diversity across STEM-based careers.
